Description

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is an enhanced oil recovery technique that uses
bacteria in oil reservoirs through production of specific metabolic processes that can
lead to enhance oil recovery. The concept of using microorganisms to enhance oil
recovery was first proposed by Beckman [4]. However, it was not until the after the
work of Zobell [30] that the research on MEOR gained wider attention.
